Having good oral hygiene practices every day is important no matter if you have baby teeth, adult teeth, or dentures. It is important that you keep your mouth clean of bacteria that can lead to infection in your mouth. Your oral health can affect your overall health in many ways.

No two people are the same, and will need different attention to detail. Everyone has a different layout to their teeth, and when different procedures are necessary, will heal at different paces. You are unique in every way.

Tooth damage can be a result of tooth decay, or an accident. Whatever the case may be, we have multiple options for getting your smile back. Here are some things you should know about different crowns.

Different Types of Crowns

A crown is designed to go over the top of an existing tooth. It adds protection and support to that tooth. It can be used to be a cap over a single tooth that may have a cavity that is too large for a filling, and it can also be used to support a bridge piece. We will go over with you what we recommend before any decision needs to be made, so do not let yourself get overwhelmed.

Our goal is not to cause you pain, but to make sure you do not run into further problems. The last thing we want to do is pull a tooth. We want to make sure that your teeth are aligned properly, and you can have your everyday functions with pain or discomfort. Depending on the individual we will do an X ray, a create a piece designed for you.

In some cases, we may be able to do a same day crown, and you will be able to go on your way. Other times we may need to give you a temporary crown until your permanent crown is ready. The main thing to remember is that we are going to do whatever it takes to make sure you are healthy and happy.

We want to make sure you can smile with confidence. We encourage you to contact us with any questions or concerns regarding your oral health. We may remind you to brush your teeth twice a day and floss once a day, but that is because we care.

Please remember to schedule regular visits with us so we can keep you informed on how things are going. Give us a call to schedule an appointment. We look forward to hearing from you.
